Macro Shots

How I missed doing these style of photgraphy. It's just takes a lot of your time in getting the right shot. Lighting is the most important and getting the right angle would either break it or ruin the whole thing. After all that work, you then have to choose which photo that would represent your work and then edit to any specifications on what otcome you think is right.

This is like gardening for me. Gives you the satisfaction on what the end result is, on how it turns out.

Throwback 10 years ago

Was looking through my digital library of endless pics and I happen to stumble upon photos of our first San Francisco road trip.

BBandSS

Back then, I already have my DSLR and it gave me that feeling that with such an advanced camera, it would yield images that would be close to works of art, fit to be displayed in a museum. Strutting my camera all over the city, as if I'm a professional.

SF Thing

I'm not saying that they were bad. They were decent. But it would have been way better and closer to my present standards if I would have taken the time to at least learn the basics back then.

And looking through the properties of each photo, I had no idea back then how I was adjusting my cameras settings. On the bright side, at least I was not using our point and shoot.

May look good but

Spring is here and we've been seeing of the super bloom all over social media. Anza Borrego was the go to place to see all those wild flowers.

It was a 2 hour drive from Chula and the weather was in the 80's when we got there. We also had to cross the mountains and seeing this desolate town in the middle of the desert was just pretty amazing.

Made us wonder how it feels like to live here. Vegas is filled with so many things and Palm Springs is less congested but it still has everything you need. While Anza Borrego is really tiny with mom and pop shops, long stretch of asphalt roads, hiking trails and a rotunda in the middle of the town with picnic tables.

We also went around to see the metal structures that they're famous for.

SDCC 2017 Cosplayers

In every convention there's a slew of cosplayers. SDCC is probably one of the best in the nation.

Here's a few from this year

Goodbye old friend

Our very first DSLR and it served me well.

This how it all started. My love for photography. This was my best companion all through those years that left me with picture perfect memories.

Canon XTi

I did pass this long ago to my dad but he had no interest and set aside. I then took it back and used it for a few more years. But I had to upgrade since the XTi can't meet my needs anymore.  And now I pass it along, and I know that it would inspire the same passion as I had to that person (Tita's).

Selfies

Facebook and Instagram is littered with these photos. I'm guilty of this but can't help but wonder how some people can dedicate a few minutes every single day just to take pictures of themselves.

Please refrain from using any selfie sticks during the convention @happymommyadi #sdcc #comiccon #sandiego #hasbro #yotsuba #noselfies

When I look at the mirror after waking up,thats enough for me to know how I look like. But posting it on social media is just too much. I guess there's people out there who just can't wait to see that particular person's selfie for that day.

Sure we have our own thing that we do and like. Photos of pets, food and places would be an abundance with all my FB friends. But come on, your selfies flooding my feed every single day. And mind you, it's not just one photo, but several, as in several ANGLES. I know, the left side of your face does not compliment you as much as your right side. As a good friend, these are several things that I have to put up with.

Imperial Beach

Did a photoshoot today with Sherri and family. The weather did cooperate and was great. Although I was hoping it would be a lil bit overcast and that would have made it perfect. Happy tagged along, but really bugged us mid way, insisting to play on the sand.

Itsy bitsy teeny weeny

You know those days when you went to the mall just because. I really had no plans in buying anything besides bare essentials.

Nikon Coolpix S01

Why did I have to go to the electronics clearance section at Target. Maybe it's because that's what I always do? Anyways, there it was. With a red tag. On sale. Calling my name. And only one left.

Canon VS Nikon

<Nikon S01

Back to five months ago when me and Anna spotted this little thing. Yes, we already have a bunch of cameras. From SLR's, digicam, our iPhones and even vintage polaroids. But this was different, it's small, handy, can fit on your front jeans pocket and it's white. Gotta have a bunch of reasons of course.

Sony VS Nikon

Nikon S01

Back to present. I took it, put it in the cart and convinced Anna that this was a steal. I think back then it was $120, and now it's $69.99. Not even hitting the $70 mark. The more reason we gotta have it.

Look how small this thing is.

Project: Adee

With Cerner on board at work, I had to pick up a few days. On top of everything else, I was about to do a photo shoot with Josie's daughter Adee for her debut. It was a pro bono gig since Josie's a co-worker.

We did the shoot at La Jolla. I'd say this by far is the most challenging since I dealt with 1. young adults and, 2. sunset.

It was fun, nonetheless. Happy 18th Adee!

old skool

I was talking to Sam through Skype the other day, and told me her classmates are already into DSLR. What the freak is wrong with these kids. A starter kit costs somewhere around $800 in PI! Explain to me how a high school kid can afford that, please.

Anyways, I was relieved after knowing she's not into it, and she'd rather have one of those instant Polaroid cams. I said "Sure, I'll buy you one, heck since those things are dirt cheap in Ebay, I'll even make it two".

And so I won in three auctions-- ranging from 99c to $12.

After a few days, the mailman came knockin' in bearing gifts. One of the cameras came with a cartridge and I tried it right away. Then I later found out that these are cheap for a reason. The cost of the film would make my wallet jump out of my pocket and cry in a corner.

I guess it's not always true when they say it's old and gone cheaper.
