We have only just begun

DSC05040

The hard part of buying a house besides paying for the mortgage would be renovations. Our house is fairly new, about five years old. We do have a few issues considering it's in very good condition. Some sections of the house had different wall colors. Fortunately, upstairs were in all in white except for the lilac (really?!) bathroom in the master's. Of course the OC in me had to put another coat of fresh paint.

I had to buy tons of painting equipment since I'm too cheap to even consider hiring a professional painter. Heck, how hard would it be to paint house interiors, right? Well i figured that out the hard way. Not only that It's not just a one day gig, my paint went to places i never want it go to.

Since I made a mess on the carpet and had paint splatters on most part, I then decided to hire people to take care of the old and now messy carpet. If I had the slightest idea how to install one, I would have done it myself.

crossed fingers

Weeks of house hunting, signing endless documents, looking through house to house, making phone calls back and forth. These are nothing compared to the wait and then finding out at the end of the day that there are still some loose strings needed to be tied down. Most often than not, it happens when there's not enough time to fix thing and having to wait the next day and do everything all over again.

But today should be different. Today, we're expecting a call to say that the keys are ready to be picked up!

Finally, WE ARE HOME.

When???

A hundred and seventy two pages signed in less than three hours. And we had to do it the long-hand way. When was the last time I signed anything this way? Gradeschool as far as I can remember. I don't know about Anna.

We chose Monet. Anna fell in love with this house the moment we stepped inside a few weeks back. It's not too shabby and a good starter house. This is where Happy will grow and have fond memories of her childhood.

A few more days or weeks, depending on how things go, then we will finally get the keys and start the harder part----the big MOVE!
