Diva in the making

It's never too early to go shopping. And in Alyanna's case, 4 days after her birthday is just about right. We had to buy her a couple of clothes, since most of her new born clothes are still too big for her.

But what I'm really excited about is her new ride. We were just supposed to check out which stroller is better between the Bugaboo and Stokke at this local San Diego store called AganaBaby. The sales person gave us a good deal with the Bugaboo that made me decide to buy it right there and then.

Anna was also in a daze. The store was loaded with a huge array of baby items that we don't normally see at our local Target or Babies R Us. That's why she probably let me buy the stroller.

My golly, both Anna and I are shopaholics, so Alyanna is a diva in the making-- a shopping diva!

Alyanna has left the building

After 4 days in the hospital, we're finally home with Alyanna (aka Baby V). Our deepest thanks to all the people who were there for us.

To all the staff of 3 West @ Sharp Chula Vista-- you've all been really great!

Here's a bunch of pics that we took while we were there.

Baby V has arrived

Baby out @ 1505 hrs (01/11/10), baby girl, 5.4 lbs., 18 in, she looks healthy and filled OR with her loud cry.

I was just about to post the events that went on during the weekend, but we had to go to the doctor for her routine check up. I had her on NPO the night before, since we already anticipated that she might have to deliver the next day.

When we got to the doctors office, he then told us that he moved the date to January 13, but then when we told him all the stuff that Anna went through the weekend and that she's been on NPO already, he said we might as well do it today then.

Anna was on the table for just 35 minutes. Everything was just great, except for one thing, the slow and crappy internet connection.

The moment Baby V was out, I immediately updated our facebook status and started calling people. Everyone just started pouring in.

I'm just soooo looking forward to all those sleepless days now (since I'm working nights). And I have to deal with not one but with two bosses. Baby V doesn't cry a lot, but her silence means that she's arrived.

The baby wants out!!!

It's been days already that Anna's blood pressure was up. Our OB was worried that the baby would come out and she's only at her 36th week. He then told us to go to the hospital and have her monitored.

After a few diagnostic exams and procedures, it then turned out, that she was fine. But she needs to be on strict bed rest, or else, the baby would just have it's way and pop out any day. We're still hoping that he/she (yes, we still don't know what's the baby's gender is) would still be able to make it on the 28th of January. We're still buying 1 or 2 weeks more.

For sure, if the baby could talk, he/she's yelling right now saying" I WANT OUT OF THIS TUMMY".

This is how we did it

It's been almost 2 years since we've been to PI. And the last time we were there was the holidays of 07.

Christmas is as simple and a subtle family gathering. But New Year is a different story all together. Its always a huge event for us in the family. My dad would cook the Media Noche and my mom would be the one to do the preparations.

Here in SD, New Year is not as fun and exciting compared to PI. This year, we just went shopping for Christmas items at Target, then to Viejas Outlet and finally went to our local Denny's for dinner.

We then headed home and waited for the countdown. Unfortunately, we both fell asleep and by the time we woke up, it's 4am already. Oh well, maybe it'll be different next year.

Good Job

Bath and Body works had a huge sale few days back. We took advantage and bought a huge array of sprays, shower gels and lotions.

It was perfect timing too since I haven't given out any Christmas gifts to my co-workers and friends. The bows we're also on sale at Target and the tissue wrapping were freebies from Starbucks last year.

And when I started to hand out our gifts. I got the same reaction, "We're not opening this, since it looked so nice, especially the bows".

The wife said I did a good job.
